Role Overview

The Accounts Payable Accountant will serve in a full-time, fully remote capacity, responsible for overseeing the accuracy and management of payables records. This position supports the daily functions of the finance team by processing vendor invoices, ensuring appropriate approvals, coding and posting transactions to the general ledger, and reconciling accounts payable statements. Additional duties include monitoring payment timelines, preparing payments, resolving discrepancies in invoices, and handling communication with vendors and internal departments to guarantee prompt and precise payments. The role also requires assistance in month-end close procedures related to payables, enforcing compliance with company policies, and contributing to ongoing improvements in accounting processes.

Qualifications

• Solid foundation in finance and accounting principles, particularly as applied to accounts payable tasks.
• Proven experience in invoice processing, including invoice matching, coding, and workflow approval processes.
• Skilled in account reconciliation, specifically vendor statement and general ledger accounts connected to payables.
• Competency with accounting software and ERP systems, complemented by strong Excel skills and accurate data entry abilities.
• High attention to detail, good organizational capabilities, and the capacity to manage multiple deadlines effectively in a remote work environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to coordinate efficiently with vendors and internal teams.
• Previous experience in accounts payable or general accounting roles; preferred educational background includes an associate or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related disciplines.
• Basic understanding of tax and compliance considerations related to vendor payments is a plus.
