Overview
Join a globally recognized professional services leader dedicated to tackling critical challenges across water, energy, and urban development sectors. Our Western Australia Environment division is expanding with an opportunity for a Zoologist to join the Ecology team based in Perth. This division is among the largest in WA, excelling in impact assessments, terrestrial ecology, marine, air, and noise assessment services.
Role and Responsibilities
- Lead and support project proposals and ensure successful delivery of biological projects of small to medium scale.
- Conduct field surveys throughout Western Australia in varied and sometimes remote locations.
- Produce detailed technical reports and manage data packages related to fauna and ecological assessments.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Strong passion for ecology combined with knowledge of current environmental concerns and applicable Commonwealth and Western Australian legislation.
- Preferably a minimum of two years' relevant experience in ecological or zoological survey and assessments within Western Australia.
- Motivated to undertake fieldwork and contribute effectively within a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent communication abilities, both written and oral, capable of simplifying complex issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, ecology, or related field.
- Fauna identification experience is favored; openness to learn from senior colleagues to deepen expertise.
- Capacity to perform field activities in various WA environments with time-in-lieu or overtime compensation available for extended hours.
- Experience in managing ecological data and writing comprehensive reports.
- A cooperative mindset focused on client satisfaction and teamwork.
