About Katherine West Health Board
Katherine West Health Board (KWHB) is among Northern Territory's foremost Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations, delivering primary healthcare and support services throughout remote communities in the Katherine West region.
Role Overview
This newly established Workforce Development Coordinator position supports the organisation's growth by leading learning initiatives and enhancing workforce capability. The role oversees development for a diverse, geographically spread team of over 230 staff in Katherine, Darwin, and remote areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement broad learning and professional growth programs.
- Administer the Learning Management System and monitor compliance with mandatory training.
- Support Aboriginal workforce programs and career development paths.
- Manage probation and employee performance review cycles.
- Provide detailed workforce data analysis and capability reporting.
- Assist managers in crafting development plans for their teams.
- Foster strong relationships with leaders across various locations.
- Contribute to enhancing the Human Resources function.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate has proven experience in HR, workforce development, learning and development, or organisational development. They balance operational duties with strategic capability-building and show commitment to culturally safe workplaces that support Aboriginal communities.

- Capability to work autonomously, provide practical advice, and build trust with leadership.

Mandatory Requirements
- Unrestricted Australian work rights (no visa sponsorship available).
- Valid Driver's Licence.
- Eligibility to obtain NT Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card) and a National Criminal History Check.
- Willingness and ability to travel to remote communities by road and light aircraft as needed.
