Role overview
This opportunity is for a capable Winemaker who can take charge of the full winemaking cycle and help influence the character and quality of the wines produced. The role suits someone who is practical, technically strong and comfortable working both in the vineyard and in the winery.
Success in this position will come from a collaborative mindset, clear communication, a strong sense of ownership and a genuine interest in innovation and continuous improvement. The right person will bring energy, resilience, a safety-first approach and the ability to adapt quickly in a busy production environment.
What you will do
You will manage the complete production process, from fermentation and blending through analysis, storage and final approval, making sure every wine aligns with brand style, legal obligations and customer expectations. You will also keep detailed records in the wine management system and ensure compliance requirements remain up to date.
As the main contact for a nominated brand, you will speak confidently about the wine’s style, background and technical profile. You will work closely with the viticulture team, visit vineyards regularly, and contribute to new product development, trials and blend decisions with senior winemaking leadership.
The role also supports improvement initiatives such as 5S discipline, Tier meetings, internal wine education and participation in annual audits including WSMP, ISO and BioGro.

This position involves occasional travel within the country and some work outside standard hours. During vintage, the workload becomes much more intensive, with shifts reaching up to 70 hours per week over a six-day schedule.
Company values
The organisation’s values are Ownership, Focus, Innovate, Results and Leadership.
