About the Role
This senior operations leadership position is with an industrial construction contracting business in Mumbai. The role is designed for a seasoned professional from EPC or construction environments who has independently overseen projects valued at 150 crore or more annually and has demonstrated strong control over site-level costs and profitability for at least 3 years, preferably 5 years. Experience from warehousing or industrial projects is especially valued.
Core Responsibilities
- Shape and drive end-to-end execution plans for projects, while also making regular visits to active sites across India.
- Set clear schedules for projects and maintain consistent standards for quality, safety, and execution at every location.
- Lead the full project cycle across multiple assignments, covering planning, execution, operations, and financial outcomes.
- Take ownership of project and operations management, including construction delivery, resource mobilisation, site progress, and timely completion in line with business goals and quality benchmarks.
- Apply strong project execution discipline to ensure work is delivered on schedule.
- Work closely with project heads, project managers, clients, and consultants to keep execution aligned across sites.
- Review project progress on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
- Manage budgeting, cost control, and forecasting for all projects and for the business unit as a whole.
- Prepare MIS reports and present performance updates to leadership.
- Maintain effective relationships with clients, vendors, and government bodies.
- Improve how people, materials, and other resources are deployed across several projects based on urgency and priority.
- Share regular weekly and monthly updates with the COO on project progress, financial performance, key risks, and strategic requirements.
Experience and Profile
The ideal candidate should bring 12 to 20+ years of experience in large-scale industrial, commercial, or residential project management, along with the ability to manage pan-India operations and large cross-functional teams. The role calls for strong leadership, negotiation ability, financial understanding, and stakeholder management. A strong working network for arranging labour and other resources as needed is also important.
Eligibility
Applicants should hold a B.Tech / B.E. in Civil Engineering or a Diploma in Civil Engineering.
