Role Overview
Join as our pioneering UI/UX Designer handling product design across the Exodus platform and the SACR website. Focus on crafting interfaces that are clear, trustworthy, and suitable for a senior audience of skeptical CISOs.
Core Responsibilities
- End-to-end design including discovery, user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity interfaces, interactive prototypes, and detailed engineering handoff.
- Create AI answer presentations that distinctly showcase cited, confidence-weighted, evidence-supported responses separating facts, inferences, and opinions clearly.
- Design vendor profile and comparison tools managing categories, integrations, compliance, and benchmarking with high data density yet easy readability.
- Develop onboarding and context-capture processes applying progressive profiling balancing speed and necessary product context.
- Build responsive website and web app elements such as marketing pages, login portals, gated reports, market maps, and paid services optimized for mobile and desktop.
- Establish and maintain a design system with shared components, tokens, and patterns ensuring visual and functional consistency across products.
Design Quality & Collaboration
- Simplify intricate cybersecurity and AI topics into user-friendly interfaces covering flows, diagrams, and stepwise interactions.
- Ensure distinctive typography, hierarchy, and accessibility to clearly differentiate findings, evidence, and user actions.
- Maintain brand consistency in color, spacing, and typography scale.
- Conduct light user research and usability tests, incorporating feedback from the CISO Advisory Board.
- Provide comprehensive developer handoffs, effectively communicating expected feature behaviors to facilitate confident engineering implementation.
Working Style & Tools
- Comfortably design amid ambiguity in a discovery-heavy startup environment.
- Utilize Figma for design exploration and prototyping; use Notion for tracking technical revisions.
- Practice clear asynchronous communication with status updates and clarifications.
- Iterate quickly and welcome feedback openly.
- Support both product and website design while occasionally contributing to brand assets.
- Organize and share editable files ensuring easy asset reuse.
Confidentiality & Security Responsibilities
- Handle sensitive, pre-publication, and embargoed cybersecurity research with utmost discretion, complying with NDAs and embargoes.
- Apply secure file management procedures including approved tools and controlled access.
- Maintain accuracy and credibility in data visualization and avoid distortions or misleading representations.
- Demonstrate strong curiosity about cybersecurity threat landscapes, vendor categories, and frameworks to produce credible designs suited for the target audience.
Primary Tools
- Figma (primary for UI design, prototyping, and design systems).
- Notion (documentation, roadmaps, technical tracking).
- Claude Design (AI-assisted design; preferred).
- Canva (quick brand and social media assets; preferred).
- Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator and Photoshop for supporting assets; preferred).
Required Qualifications
- 2 to 4 years experience in product or UX/UI design, preferably in B2B SaaS or enterprise software environments.
- Portfolio evidencing comprehensive product design, complex data-heavy interfaces, and design system contributions.
- Expert Figma skills including design, prototyping, components, and libraries.
- Strong fundamentals in UX: information architecture, interaction design, usability, accessibility, and responsive design.
- Hands-on experience with UX research methods such as journey mapping, user interviews, and usability testing, able to interpret stakeholder/user insights beyond surface-level requirements.
- Ability to deliver consistent responsive design across various devices.
- Skill translating complex technical concepts into straightforward, clean interfaces.
- Excellent typography, layout, and visual hierarchy capabilities.
- Efficient asynchronous communication with rapid, feedback-oriented iteration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing AI/LLM-based products including chat/answer UIs, citation mechanisms, confidence indicators, and agentic flows.
- Proven ability to develop design systems from the ground up.
- Basic front-end understanding (HTML/CSS) to collaborate effectively with engineers.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity or other technical regulated sectors, especially designing for enterprise or technical users.
- Familiarity with Canva for instant marketing collateral creation.
- Ability to incorporate microinteractions using JavaScript libraries to enhance engagement.
- Experience with Claude Design for accelerating design exploration and iteration.
Selection Criteria
- Portfolio showcasing full product design lifecycle and complex, data-intensive interfaces.
- Examples of web/app UI with responsive layouts.
- Demonstrations where complex workflows or concepts were simplified.
- Potential design challenge covering problem framing and quality of layout, interaction, and speed.
