Our universal gift card can be customized indefinitely and used to redeem any product across all online stores via a single API, embodying the entire internet's shopping possibilities.

We are pioneering an AI-driven gifting infrastructure that integrates real-time merchant feeds, intelligent search, and instant checkout to enable brands to showcase any product online instantly. Having successfully secured seed funding from expert investors, we are accelerating growth and seeking passionate team members to join us.

Role Overview

As the UI/UX Designer, you will be instrumental in crafting every interaction people have with Joy_, from initial discovery through to the joyful use of our product. You will develop the look, feel, and functionality across multiple touchpoints including consumer interfaces, B2B partner portals, marketing platforms, and our evolving design system.

Key Responsibilities

• Designing comprehensive user experiences ranging from wireframes and user flows to polished UI and interactive prototypes.
• Creating and maintaining a scalable design system featuring reusable components and consistent standards.
• Shaping our brand's visual identity to ensure cohesion across product, web, and marketing channels.
• Collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, product strategy, and commercial teams to implement and enhance design solutions.
• Conducting user research and testing to gather insights and iteratively improve interfaces.
• Striving to balance visual appeal with usability, accessibility, and conversion effectiveness.
• Rapidly iterating designs based on real-world usage and feedback.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2-3 years of professional experience in UI/UX design, preferably within product-centric environments such as startups, agencies, or e-commerce.
• Strong skills in UI design demonstrating keen attention to typography, color schemes, layouts, spacing, and overall visual hierarchy.
• Solid foundation in UX including proficiency in user flows, wireframes, and prototyping, with a particular strength in producing beautiful interface designs.
• Expert-level proficiency in Figma, capable of constructing scalable and well-organized design documentation.
• Experience in design system development, including component libraries and design tokens.
• Effective collaborator with engineers and other stakeholders, capable of clearly explaining design choices.
• Fluency in German and English to serve core user groups and support an international team.
• A portfolio showcasing a wide range of projects from consumer experiences to complex dashboards.

Preferred Additional Skills

• Experience designing for ecommerce, fintech, payments, or gifting products.
• Knowledge of HTML/CSS concepts (coding not required but understanding helpful).
• Skills in motion design or crafting micro-interactions.
• Ability in illustration or icon creation.
• Experience with user research methodologies, A/B testing, or using analytics tools.
• Familiarity with accessibility standards such as WCAG.
• Background in brand design and marketing asset creation.
