Transport Coordinator

About The Role

Food Surplus Management (FSM) is looking for an experienced Transport Coordinator to oversee the nationwide collection of food surplus. This is a full-time, permanent position based on-site, requiring a Monday to Friday work schedule with occasional weekend and bank holiday duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and organize transport routes focusing on specific customers or regions.
• Ensure all scheduled and planned collections are completed within agreed timeframes.
• Maintain clear communication with drivers, customers, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Adapt quickly to changes and address any collection or delivery challenges as they arise.
• Keep accurate records of customers and transport documentation.
• Generate monthly transport reports for the accounting department.
• Provide excellent customer service at all times.
• Seek ways to enhance route efficiency, processes, and fleet utilization.
• Assist the Transport Manager in further developing and improving transport operations.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum three years of experience in transport coordination or planning.
• Practical knowledge of transport regulations.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to handle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in computer use and comfortable working with transport or planning software.
• Positive, adaptable, and team-oriented attitude.
• Ability to work independently and manage pressure effectively.
• Logistics, transport management, or related qualifications are a plus.
• Possession of a Transport Manager CPC certification is beneficial but not required.
