About the Role
The Transactional Buyer position is based in Abu Dhabi and requires a minimum of 5 years of procurement experience, ideally within a transactional sourcing environment. The role involves supporting category management by analyzing business needs, researching supply markets, and developing sourcing strategies. This position demands management of sourcing initiatives alongside maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the role includes support for Supplier Relationship Management, data handling, and reporting activities, and it requires sound independent judgment within corporate policy frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform full-cycle procurement operations for assigned purchase requisitions of materials and services, following company procedures.
- Interpret procurement requirements, conduct technical clarifications, and devise procurement approaches.
- Handle Requests for Quotations and Proposals, gather competitive bids, conduct commercial evaluations, and recommend suitable suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery criteria.
- Ensure a rapid purchase requisition to purchase order turnaround reflecting request urgency.
- Conduct commercial negotiations to secure optimal value for the company.
- Place purchase orders promptly and continuously track supplier performance to ensure adherence to delivery schedules.
- Collaborate with internal teams to address technical and commercial queries and to resolve procurement issues.
- Keep accurate procurement records and update ERP systems such as SAP and relevant sourcing platforms with timely information.
- Support purchase order execution, amendments, and administration as needed.
- Prepare and deliver procurement reports covering sourcing progress, purchase requisition aging, purchase order cycle times, supplier performance, and delivery risks.
- Comply with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards, ethical procurement policies, and company compliance requirements.
- Contribute to sourcing strategy formulation through comprehensive data analysis covering market intelligence, dynamics, cost drivers, risks, and opportunities.
- Participate in mandatory training to uphold capability and compliance standards.
- Implement Health & Safety procedures throughout procurement activities related to purchase orders and contracts.
- Adhere to Delegation of Authority protocols to secure necessary approvals for purchase orders and contracts.
- Promote a strong safety culture by engaging in safety initiatives, supporting risk management, and enforcing EHS legislative and company policies with team members and contractors.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Degree in Business or Engineering from a recognized university is required.
- At least 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in transactional sourcing.
