Tool Maker

Role Overview

This position is focused on the repair, upkeep, and advancement of production mould tools to ensure optimal performance and durability.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct safety inspections and contribute to safety improvement initiatives as needed.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance following established procedures.
• Execute repairs aimed at preventing recurrence and enhancing the resilience of tooling.
• Keep detailed records of tool work and complete all required documentation in the toolroom.
• Assist in supporting and maintaining 5S workplace organization standards.
• Apply root cause analysis to guarantee the effectiveness and durability of corrective measures and repairs.
• Handle repairs and maintenance of hot runner systems.
• Operate within a rotating shift schedule, demonstrating flexibility with shift timing requirements.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Must have comprehensive experience with mould tool repair and traditional bench-fitting skills.
• Possess relevant certifications such as City & Guilds Toolmaker and/or ONC Mechanical Engineering.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong background in manufacturing and maintaining injection mould tools.
• Experience working collaboratively across multiple departments.

Preferred Attributes

• Prior experience in automotive or comparable high-volume production environments is advantageous.

Shift Pattern and Working Hours

• Rostered on a 3-shift rotating schedule.
• Monday to Thursday shifts: 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, and 10pm-6am
• Friday shifts: 6am-1pm, 1pm-8pm, and 8pm-3am
