About the Role

Baselayer is hiring a Technical Recruiter to help bring in the people who will shape the company’s future. This role owns end-to-end recruiting for Engineering, Product, and Design positions and partners closely with founders and hiring managers to create a strong, structured hiring process. It is a high-ownership position with real influence on the growth of the team.

What You’ll Do

  • Handle the full recruiting lifecycle for Engineering, Product, and Design openings, including sourcing, screening, coordination, and offer closure.
  • Work with founders and hiring managers to define role expectations, create evaluation scorecards, and maintain a consistently high hiring standard.
  • Design and run sourcing plans to find strong candidates through LinkedIn, referrals, events, and other targeted outreach methods.
  • Provide a smooth and respectful candidate journey from first contact through final decision.
  • Keep the applicant tracking system organized and ensure pipeline information remains accurate and up to date.
  • Help shape interview loops that are structured, fair, and effective at predicting future performance.
  • Support employer branding efforts by communicating Baselayer’s story and mission to prospective candidates.
  • Monitor recruiting data and share updates on pipeline progress, time to hire, and quality of hire.

Minimum Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience managing full-cycle recruiting, preferably in a fast-moving startup or similarly demanding environment.
  • Proven success hiring for Engineering and/or Product functions.
  • Strong candidate sourcing ability, especially for passive talent rather than only inbound applicants.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to keep the hiring process responsive and candidate-friendly.
  • Hands-on experience using an ATS such as Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, or a comparable system.
  • Prior use of LinkedIn Recruiter.

Work Location

This position is based in New York City and requires a hybrid schedule with 4 in-office days each week.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $100,000 to $120,000 annually, plus equity. There is also an annual bonus component.
