System Administrator

Overview

Join as a System Administrator collaborating closely with the Infrastructure Specialist to develop, maintain, and troubleshoot large scale Enterprise IT infrastructure in Abu Dhabi.

Core Responsibilities

• Partner with the Systems Infrastructure Specialist to deliver critical applications ensuring optimal availability, performance, and security.
• Install, configure, test, and maintain Windows and Linux operating systems, essential application software, and system management tools.
• Configure and oversee High Availability solutions such as Clustering and Load Balancing.
• Deploy and administer virtual environments using Hyper-V and Citrix technologies.
• Manage network devices and protocols including VLANs, routing, and access control lists.
• Handle installation, configuration, and management of SAN storage devices and fiber channel switches.
• Provide advanced (third-level) technical support for diagnosing and resolving complex infrastructure issues.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field required; Master’s degree is advantageous.
• At least 8 years of experience implementing large scale Enterprise IT solutions.
• Demonstrated expertise installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows and UNIX/Linux systems.
• Experience with storage administration for EMC and IBM solutions.
• Strong background in LAN/WAN network configuration and deployment.
• Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring tools and solutions.
• Knowledge of automation and deployment technologies like Microsoft Configuration Manager and Chef.
• Proficiency in scripting languages.
• Experience with Oracle database installation and configuration is desirable.
• Basic understanding of SQL programming, especially Oracle SQL, adds value.
• Experience working with big data infrastructure is a significant plus.
• Relevant certifications include MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, Cloudera, Virtualization, and Security+.
