About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and meticulous Supply Chain Manager to oversee comprehensive materials management across the supply chain, from supplier receipt through production to finished goods delivery. This position is critical to ensuring material availability, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring a reliable supply chain within a regulated manufacturing setting. Reporting directly to the VP of Operations, the role is based on-site in Galway, Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to enable continuous production flow.
- Supervise receiving, storage, and issuance of materials, ensuring accurate labelling, segregation, and suitable storage conditions.
- Manage stock across varied internal and external locations, keeping track of reorder points, product shelf life, and expiry dates to avoid shortages or obsolete stock.
- Lead the annual physical inventory count and resolve discrepancies.
- Collaborate closely with planning and operations teams to align materials availability with production demand and support production scheduling.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance teams for material inspection and release processes.
- Administer purchase orders adhering to supplier contracts and agreements.
- Lead the ERP system implementation and maintain accurate master data records.
- Participate actively in Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) to ensure balanced production planning.
- Monitor and report key performance indicators, including On-Time In-Full (OTIF) and supplier performance metrics.
- Serve as the primary liaison with suppliers, managing supplier performance, pricing, and service agreements.
- Track supplier deliveries and resolve any performance issues.
- Drive supplier forecasting and planning efforts.
- Support corrective action initiatives and foster continuous improvement programs to mitigate supply chain risks.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the supply chain team.
- Foster strong partnerships with internal stakeholders in operations, quality, and commercial functions, as well as with external suppliers and logistics vendors.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Science, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience in supply chain, materials, or inventory management, including leadership roles.
- Experience working within regulated manufacturing environments is preferred.
- Proficient with ERP systems and Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.
- Familiarity with quality management systems is an advantage.
