About SAJA Studios

SAJA Studios is a game development company founded through a Saudi-Japanese partnership, operating between Riyadh and Osaka with a unique bilingual development workflow. The studio culture emphasizes disciplined engineering, clean pipelines, focused iteration, and delivering functional products rather than just demos.

Currently, SAJA Studios is developing a racing game featuring a fully realized 3D model of Riyadh. The studio gained international exposure at Tokyo Game Show 2025 and initiated collaboration talks with partners across Japan, South Korea, and Southeast Asia.

Internship Overview

This is the initial intern group, integrated into a professional production environment rather than a training program.

Participants will collaborate closely with both founders and engage in a cross-cultural process involving Japanese engineering practices, including rigorous code reviews and iterative development spanning Riyadh and Osaka time zones.

Internship Focus Areas

Gameplay and Systems: Participate in designing and documenting game mechanics, developing track layouts inspired by Riyadh neighborhoods, adjusting vehicle handling and difficulty, and translating playtest feedback into changes, with engineering reviews from the Osaka team.
Visual Design: Contribute to UI and HUD designs, marketing assets, environmental and vehicle concepts, and prepare assets to meet Japanese-quality standards for integration into builds.
Coordination: Support design, engineering, and business alignment by managing backlogs, drafting specifications, tracking demo milestones, and conducting competitive analysis, serving as a vital link between Riyadh and Osaka teams.
Web Development: Rebuild the sajastudios.com website using a modern front-end framework deployed as a static site, including creating a careers page; undergo professional code reviews by founders.
Market Analysis and Business Development: Perform research on Saudi and East Asian gaming markets, evaluate business opportunities following the Tokyo Game Show, track competitors, and develop financial models supporting the roadmap.
3D Mapping and Capture: Assist in planning and executing street-level photography of Riyadh districts, converting imagery into 3D models using photogrammetry software like RealityCapture or Metashape, integrating reconstructed assets into the game engine. Backgrounds in geomatics, surveying, architecture, or computer science with practical photogrammetry experience preferred; drone operation is advantageous but not mandatory.

Terms and Perks

The internship is unpaid and remote.
Duration is three months.
Interns will receive a certificate of completion and portfolio-worthy shipped work on a genuine title.
Direct mentorship and interaction with founders and lead engineers across Saudi-Japanese development teams.
Exceptional interns may be offered full-time positions with equity participation.

Candidate Requirements

Applicants must be students or recent graduates residing in Saudi Arabia.
Portfolio or evidence of actual shipped or completed work prioritized over resumes.
Demonstrated enthusiasm for game development in Riyadh and for SAJA Studios.
Availability to commit fully for the entire three-month term.
Skills aligned with the chosen internship focus area.
