Position Overview
This role entails responsibility for the efficient handling, storage, and dispatch of goods within the warehouse of Freighter Group, a company focused on providing equipment, parts, and services to the road transport industry across Australasia. The Storeperson / Driver supports maintaining accurate inventory, ensuring workplace safety, and enhancing overall warehouse productivity.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage stock by receiving, inspecting, and storing goods according to company protocols.
- Pick, pack, and dispatch orders accurately for delivery or collection.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with periodic stock audits.
- Report any inventory discrepancies, damages, or losses to management promptly.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks safely and efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse, adhering to safety standards.
- Handle and store hazardous or delicate materials following safety procedures.
- Facilitate order fulfillment including loading and unloading deliveries and coordinating with transport providers to ensure timely dispatch.
- Report workplace injuries, incidents, or near misses to supervisors immediately.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and contribute to a hygienic work environment.
- Engage actively in health and safety programs, including hazard identification and risk assessments.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize warehouse operations and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience
- Successful completion of Year 12 education.
- Practical experience working in a warehouse setting.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Key Interactions
This role involves regular coordination and communication with the Parts Manager, Workshop Supervisor, Service Manager, Service Advisors, Workshop Technicians, Parts Interpreters, Sales Team, suppliers, vendors, customers, and contractors.
