Role Overview
The Store Manager for the supermarket oversees daily operations to ensure top-notch service, smooth functioning, and sustained business growth. This position is pivotal in driving sales expansion, optimizing profitability, controlling inventory levels, enhancing customer experience, and implementing efficient management practices.
Primary Responsibilities
- Execute supermarket strategies, guidelines, and operational plans aligned with overall corporate goals, working closely with Head Office and Corporate teams.
- Analyze sales, profitability, and operational data to boost commercial performance by identifying revenue growth and cost optimization opportunities.
- Manage merchandise and inventory effectively by ensuring adequate stock levels, consistent pricing, reducing waste, and minimizing shrinkage.
- Collaborate with Merchandising and Department Heads to maintain appealing product displays, oversee stock replenishment, and ensure prompt merchandise delivery.
- Supervise service functions including maintenance of assets, hygiene standards, health and safety compliance, and maintaining excellent customer service.
- Lead, motivate, and develop the supermarket team by setting clear performance goals, offering constructive feedback, coaching, and fostering talent development.
- Assess training and staffing needs, organize learning programs, and facilitate hands-on training to enhance team skills.
- Ensure adherence to corporate policies, operational protocols, and continuous improvement efforts supporting sustainable growth.

- Deliver strong financial outcomes such as turnover, net profits, margins, and transaction growth.
- Maintain effective inventory control to minimize waste and shrinkage while ensuring product availability.
- Uphold high merchandising and stock quality standards, ensuring product readiness and availability.
- Drive excellent customer satisfaction, operational health index results, and superior service delivery.
- Comply with hygiene, safety, and security regulations across all supermarket operations.
- Exhibit exceptional leadership through coaching, training, and retention strategies with strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
