Sterilising Unit Technician, CSSD

Position Overview

Allevia Hospitals in Auckland seeks a New Zealand Certified Sterilising Technician to join their Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD). This role involves working variable 8-hour shifts from 7am to midnight, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday shifts. The CSSD plays a critical role in ensuring surgical instruments are properly processed for multiple hospital locations, supporting theatre operations with top-quality sterilisation and decontamination services.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Operate and maintain mechanical sterilising and decontamination equipment within the state-of-the-art CSSD facility in Parnell.
• Process surgical instruments efficiently and with high standards to meet the operational requirements of Allevia Hospitals' theatres.
• Ensure safety and compliance with healthcare protocols in a highly functional clinical service environment.
• Adapt to variable shift hours to provide consistent and reliable technical support.

Candidate Requirements

• Possession of a New Zealand Certificate in Sterilising Technology (Level 4).
• Demonstrated CSSD work experience within New Zealand healthcare settings.
• Mechanical aptitude suitable for handling and operating sterilisation equipment.
• Good physical fitness and agility to perform the role effectively.
• Clear, confident communication abilities to work effectively within a team and clinical environment.
