Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive software and systems verification and validation tests.
  • Develop and implement automated software test solutions to enhance efficiency and coverage.
  • Prepare regulatory-compliant test protocols and detailed test reports.
  • Assist in formulating verification and validation strategies for proprietary software and systems.
  • Guide design teams to ensure specifications and requirements support thorough verification activities.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical device software standards, cybersecurity guidelines, and testing best practices.
  • Detect, analyze, log software defects, and collaborate with development teams for resolution.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science.
  • Minimum two years of experience in software verification and validation testing.
  • Experienced in writing clear specifications, test protocols, and comprehensive test reports.
  • Interest and experience in software test automation; familiarity with automation tools and frameworks is considered a plus.
  • Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages; Java knowledge is advantageous.
  • Understanding of medical device regulatory standards such as IEC 60601 and 62304 preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with effective documentation abilities.
  • Ability to operate independently within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Positive, proactive mindset coupled with adaptability to take on evolving responsibilities.
  • Innovative approach to overcoming unforeseen technical challenges.

Compensation and Benefits

The total cash compensation, including base salary plus a 5% Retirement Savings Plan contribution, ranges between CAD 70,000 and CAD 96,000 annually, adjusted based on qualifications and experience. As a full-time employee, you are eligible to participate in Kardium’s stock option plan.
