Software Engineering Manager

Role Overview

An opportunity is open for a Software Engineering Manager in Singapore to guide a team of engineers and help shape the technical direction of scalable, resilient digital products.

What You’ll Do

• Coach, support, and grow a team of software engineers while promoting teamwork, new ideas, and ongoing improvement.
• Lead discussions around technical architecture, solution design, and implementation approaches for reliable and scalable systems.
• Own the software delivery process from initial planning and design through release, deployment, and ongoing support.
• Work closely with Product Managers, Architects, and other stakeholders to set technical priorities and achieve business goals.
• Define and enforce engineering standards, coding practices, CI/CD workflows, and quality assurance processes.
• Maintain strong levels of uptime, performance, security, and scalability across cloud-based applications.
• Handle capacity planning, sprint coordination, staffing allocation, and delivery tracking.
• Run performance evaluations, support career growth plans, and provide regular mentoring to team members.
• Contribute to technical governance, including code review participation and architecture-related decisions.
• Support cloud migration and modernization efforts using AWS technologies.
• Identify delivery and technical risks early and take action to resolve operational issues before they escalate.

What We’re Looking For

• A bachelor’s or master’s qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• At least 8 years of software development experience, including 3 or more years in an engineering leadership or management position.
• Practical, hands-on experience with Golang, Java, ReactJS, and AWS.
• Background in designing and delivering microservices-based systems.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, APIs, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native engineering.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and applying modern software engineering practices.
• Ability to manage several engineering efforts at the same time.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership capabilities.
