Role Overview

We are seeking a Backend Engineer for a contract position to remotely design, build, and maintain scalable server-side systems supporting high-performance applications. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop efficient APIs and data processing pipelines, ensuring robust and reliable backend infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Architect, develop, and deploy dependable backend services using up-to-date frameworks and technologies.
Enhance system scalability, reliability, and performance for a global user base.
Produce clean, maintainable, and well-documented code aligned with industry best practices.
Investigate and resolve production issues with an emphasis on maintaining uptime.
Engage in code reviews and contribute strategically to architectural choices.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Strong expertise in backend programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go.
Experience designing and integrating RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
In-depth knowledge of both SQL and NoSQL databases and optimization of queries.
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure, as well as container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
Understanding of continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) workflows and version control with Git.
