Role Overview
We seek a part-time Social Media Manager to lead our social media presence and expand awareness of our work to fresh audiences. This voluntary position provides a pivotal role in defining and executing our social media approach reflective of our high-caliber journalism and creativity.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement content strategies for Instagram and TikTok.
- Design engaging social media content including posts, carousels, stories, and reels.
- Organize and sustain a content calendar to keep publishing consistent.
- Create compelling captions aligned with our editorial tone.
- Drive organic audience growth by fostering community interaction.
- Monitor social media trends while preserving our distinctive editorial voice.
- Collaborate with editors, writers, and artists to promote new content and projects.
- Analyze social media performance and recommend improvements to enhance reach and engagement.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in managing or expanding Instagram accounts, whether personal, professional, or volunteer-based.
- Strong aptitude for design, storytelling, and visual composition.
- Understanding of Instagram and TikTok content dynamics, with a focus on quality over clickbait.
- Genuine interest in journalism, culture, current affairs, or creative sectors.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and enjoys taking initiative.
- Ability to dedicate several hours weekly to the role.
