Overview
The Senior Technical Services Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring optimal maintenance solutions for the A330MRTT aircraft fleet in service. This position focuses on providing expert engineering and technical guidance to support MRO Depot maintenance activities, ensuring the fleet's airworthiness in line with manufacturer standards and regulatory requirements.
Core Responsibilities
- Possess in-depth knowledge of Aircraft Systems, Avionics, and Powerplant systems to deliver engineering and technical support during maintenance checks at both Airframe and Component levels.
- Review and verify compliance of customer-specific tasks such as Airworthiness Directives (AD), Service Bulletins (SB), Variations of SB (VSB), Maintenance Planning Documents (MPD), and other technical publications to ensure correct execution; draft Engineering Orders (EO) and Job Instruction documents as required.
- Provide technical consultancy to departments responsible for Spare Parts, Modification Kits, Materials, and Tools as necessary.
- Navigate and utilize Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) portals efficiently to access pertinent technical publications essential for maintenance operations.
- Analyze and resolve Technical Queries emerging from routine or non-routine maintenance tasks requiring engineering or OEM involvement.
- Report damage assessments and in-service issues to OEMs through Technical Request Dossiers and Service Requests, securing approved maintenance data and documentation in return.
- Define maintenance scopes through Statements of Work for subcontracted inspections or maintenance tasks.
- Identify necessary tooling and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) required for maintenance checks, proposing alternative tooling solutions compliant with EASA regulations.
- Facilitate development and approval of in-house repair and inspection capabilities.
- Oversee mandatory and non-mandatory aircraft and component retrofits/modifications ensuring proper implementation and reporting to customers or OEMs.
- Coordinate with planning teams to manage control documents related to Deferrals, Inspection Requirements, Aircraft Damage Charts, and Structural Inspections.
- Represent the department in inter-departmental meetings, providing updates on the DeMAT management system, escalating issues as needed, and performing other duties assigned by the Technical Director or delegated managers.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Type training experience with Airbus models such as A320, A330, A340, A330MRTT, and GE CF6-80E1 engines (Level 1).
- Proficient technical English language skills aligned with aeronautical terminology.
- Skilled in interpreting Maintenance Manuals for aircraft, engines, and components, adept in OEM portals including AirbusWorld, and familiar with technical publications such as AD, SB, VSB, SIL, ISI, TFU.
- Advanced user of Microsoft Office tools.
- Highly organized, punctual, and methodical in managing priorities and tasks with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Experience and Performance Indicators
- Minimum of five years relevant experience in aviation roles such as CAMO Engineer or MRO Technical Support Engineer.
- At least two years working in engineering and maintenance on Airbus A320/A330/A340 families; familiarity with Airbus Military platforms like A330MRTT or A400M preferred.
- Comprehensive understanding of EASA Part 145 and Part M regulations (including Part-CAMO, Part-CAO), FAA, and GACA standards.
- Prior training in CDCCL/Fuel Tank Safety, Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition (CAME), Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS), Human Factors, and Safety Management Systems (SMS).
- Proven expertise in problem-solving and decision-making in daily operational contexts.
