  • Establish and monitor KPIs related to punctual deliveries, order accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork and accountability among logistics, customer service, production planning, and sales teams.

Warehouse and 3PL Oversight

  • Supervise all activities within third-party warehouse facilities, with attention to inventory accuracy, order handling, and temperature compliance.
  • Conduct regular on-site audits and quarterly business reviews with warehouse and fulfillment partners.
  • Manage cycle counting and annual physical inventory cycles; reconcile discrepancies to maintain ERP data accuracy.
  • Monitor warehouse expenses monthly and identify opportunities to reduce costs.

E-commerce and Amazon Logistics

  • Oversee logistics for e-commerce fulfillment, including direct consumer shipments and Amazon programs (FBA, FBM, SFP).
  • Collaborate with the Customer Service Manager to track and improve Amazon Vendor Central and Seller Central metrics such as OTIF, chargebacks, and Inventory Health.
  • Ensure compliance with packaging, storage, and shipping standards that preserve product temperature and quality.
  • Coordinate with marketing and operations teams for product launches and seasonal demand peaks.

Freight and Transportation Management

  • Manage all temperature-controlled outbound freight shipments to distributors, e-commerce centers, and customers.
  • Negotiate freight contracts and rates while balancing service quality with cost efficiency.
  • Supervise carrier performance and ensure temperature compliance, addressing freight claims proactively.
  • Analyze freight expenditure and identify improvements in network or mode selections.

Distributor and Retail Collaboration

  • Use distributor reporting tools like UNFI and KeHE to monitor fill rates, OTIF compliance, and chargebacks.
  • Work with the Customer Service Manager to resolve order delays, shortages, and compliance issues.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales and Planning to tackle service challenges and improve retail performance metrics.

Continuous Improvement and Strategic Initiatives

  • Lead projects aimed at enhancing supply chain efficiency, reducing costs, and increasing data visibility.
  • Partner with IT and consultants to enhance ERP (preferably NetSuite) and reporting features.
  • Support sustainability goals, including packaging efficiency and reduction of transportation carbon footprint.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of FSMA regulations, temperature-controlled logistics, and food safety compliance standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience and education combinations will be considered.
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in supply chain and logistics roles, preferably in the food, beverage, or consumer packaged goods industries focusing on temperature-sensitive products.
  • Experience with US export logistics to Canada or Mexico is advantageous.
  • Proven track record managing both logistics and customer service teams.
  • Expert knowledge in 3PL operations, temperature-controlled freight, and distributor logistics (including UNFI and KeHE).
