Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager for a 6-12 month contract, preferably based in Wellington, with consideration for applicants in Auckland. Candidates must be eligible for government security clearance, requiring citizenship or permanent residency with a minimum five-year residency in New Zealand.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and guide technical project teams, vendors, partners, and clients to achieve effective project delivery while managing risks, issues, and quality assurance.
- Collaborate and influence stakeholders to meet client and project objectives, identify improvement opportunities, and drive projects towards strategic outcomes.
- Independently prepare, maintain, and monitor project schedules, scope, resource allocations, and finances, ensuring delivery aligns with defined roadmaps and budgets.
- Apply appropriate project management methods including hybrid and waterfall approaches, integrating frameworks like Scrum, Agile, Kanban, and DevOps to suit project needs.
- Lead client workshops to elaborate functional and non-functional requirements.
- Enhance team frameworks, governance, reporting, processes, and procedures continuously.
Candidate Profile
- Experienced Senior Project Manager with a solid history in managing complex technology projects within enterprise environments that demand high process maturity and governance.
- New Zealand citizen or permanent resident located in Wellington or Auckland.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale Azure infrastructure, data, or security projects, especially involving Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and DevOps tools.
- Capability to convert complex technical requirements into actionable business outcomes.
- Vendor management acumen, with adaptability to shifting priorities in client-focused settings.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as Jira, generating burn down and budget reports.
- Must be prepared for hybrid work arrangements, including onsite presence as necessary.
