Senior Product Manager - Mobility

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead our Mobility segment focused on advancing electric transportation in Kenya and beyond. The role involves guiding product execution and iterative enhancements of essential customer experiences, engineering systems, internal tools, and business workflows. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, analytics personnel, and commercial stakeholders across several countries.

M-KOPA Mobility aims to make sustainable and affordable transportation accessible to African communities through our asset financing model, enabling ownership of motorcycles and electric vehicles for riders and entrepreneurs who otherwise lack access. We combine financial services with technology and infrastructure to support scalable clean mobility solutions in Kenya and growing markets. Our team blends startup agility with the resources and data strengths of a leading African Fintech.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the software, data products, and strategic development of critical engineering systems, business workflows, and business intelligence within M-KOPA’s Electric Vehicle financing division.
• Collaborate with engineers to continuously enhance product capabilities to deliver value to customers and the business.
• Partner with analytics engineers to understand and fulfill internal reporting and data visualization needs within the eMobility sector.
• Engage with customers and customer care teams to capture pain points and help craft exceptional customer experiences and propositions.
• Analyze business data to assess performance and uncover opportunities for new products and improvements.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Minimum 4 years experience in product management roles.
• Strong technical or analytical proficiency, with a capability to independently perform complex data analyses.
• Demonstrated success in solving technical and analytical challenges.
• Experience working effectively with distributed and diverse teams across multiple countries.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills.
• Background in managing backend or API-first products.
• Experience with business-to-consumer (B2C) product development.
• Knowledge of IoT products and best practices for remote device control.
• Experience integrating SaaS CRM systems with custom software solutions.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and leading cross-functional teams.
• Capability in making data-driven strategic decisions and developing business strategies.

Additional Information

This primarily hybrid role is based in Nairobi, Kenya, with some travel expected. Candidates should reside in or be willing to relocate to Kenya upon selection.
