Job Overview

The Senior Metering Engineer role is key to ensuring that metering systems used throughout the development and start-up phases of projects maintain high standards of accuracy, dependability, and compliance. This position contributes directly to project success by verifying that metering systems fulfill operational, contractual, and legal criteria.

Primary Responsibilities

• Formulate and apply comprehensive metering strategies tailored for project needs, adhering strictly to industry norms, regulations, and project requirements.
• Work collaboratively with cross-disciplinary teams to seamlessly incorporate metering arrangements into facility designs, ensuring alignment with performance and contract specifications.
• Manage the full cycle of metering system installation, calibration, commissioning, and testing to guarantee precise measurements and operational function.
• Perform systematic audits and inspections to assess the performance of metering systems, identify areas for enhancement, and confirm regulatory and contractual compliance.
• Offer expert guidance on selection and maintenance of metering equipment to uphold integrity and reliability, engaging with vendors and suppliers to maintain quality standards.
• Contribute to preparation of technical specifications and scopes for contracts related to metering, assisting evaluations, budgeting, audits, and contract management activities.
• Interface with regulatory bodies, certification agencies, suppliers, and specialized service providers to ensure all metering operations comply with applicable standards and legal requirements.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and project staff to evaluate risks and develop mitigation strategies emphasizing safety, environmental and operational readiness.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in instrumentation or electronics engineering.
• At least six years’ experience in the oil & gas, petrochemical, process, or power plant sectors, including a minimum of four years focused specifically on flow measurement and metering.
• Proficient in engineering software tools related to metering such as Kelton flow calculation and S600 flow computer applications.
• Knowledge of ISO standards pertaining to flow measurement.
