Job description

About the Role

Join the Technology Team at LAB3, one of Australasia’s top Azure-focused engineering consultancies, as a Senior Full Stack Developer. You'll build internal platforms essential for running LAB3 and deliver advanced AI-driven software solutions for clients. This is a remote-first, full-time opportunity based in Australia or New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of entire features from architecture to deployment, including production support, across the stack (frontend, backend, data, and Azure infrastructure).
  • Develop efficient React and TypeScript user interfaces, robust APIs, scalable data models using PostgreSQL, and reliable deployment pipelines.
  • Utilize AI coding tools such as Claude Code and GitHub Copilot to streamline development, and integrate LLMs, agents, retrieval patterns, and evaluation into deliverables.
  • Contribute to both internal applications (agent orchestration tools, FinOps, pricing) and client-facing AI projects across different platforms.
  • Collaborate with consultants, architects, and clients to define and transform business requirements into actionable technical implementations.
  • Uphold high engineering standards through mentorship, thorough code reviews, strong testing practices, and a focus on operational excellence.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • At least 5 years of comprehensive full stack development experience in contemporary technologies spanning frontend, backend services, data layers, and cloud deployment.
  • Professional proficiency with React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and Python, including experience in managing the software lifecycle from design to improvement.
  • Practical familiarity with Azure services (App Services, Functions, Storage, Identity, CI/CD), or the ability to upskill rapidly in this area.
  • Experience using AI development tools in day-to-day workflows and building/shipping features utilizing LLMs, RAG, agents, or similar.
  • Excellent collaborative and communication abilities for working with cross-functional teams and mentoring colleagues.
  • Must have full working rights and residency in Australia or New Zealand.

Technologies You'll Use

  • React and TypeScript for frontend development
  • Python for backend services and APIs
  • PostgreSQL and relational data modeling
  • Azure ecosystem: App Services, Functions, Storage, Identity, CI/CD
  • LLM (Large Language Model) integrations, retrieval-augmented generation, agent-based architectures
  • Context/prompt engineering, guardrails, and AI observability tools
  • Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Copilot Studio, Power Platform, Microsoft Graph, and broader Microsoft/M365 suite

Benefits

  • Work with cutting-edge technology to solve practical problems and deliver high client satisfaction.
  • Join a recognized Microsoft Partner of the Year with expertise in multiple domains.
  • Be part of a learning-focused environment supported by knowledgeable peers and leaders who encourage technical growth and development.
  • Help define the future of AI-driven software delivery while contributing to real-world products for internal and external users.
  • Experience an inclusive, flexible, and diverse workplace culture.
  • Enjoy remote working flexibility and supportive work/life balance.
  • Participate in a values-driven community (#BeTrue, #TeamUp, #StandOut, #ThinkAhead, #FearLessAchieveMore).
