Job Overview
The Senior Facilities Technician plays a key role in maintaining the hotel’s operations by managing daily engineering tasks, ensuring all building systems operate efficiently, and supporting emergency situations as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate equipment to maintain comfortable temperatures across hotel areas.
- Manage systems that provide clean and hot water to hotel services.
- Ensure clear television and satellite signals reach guest suites.
- Provide audiovisual support for hotel events.
- Support emergency operations teams promptly and effectively during crises.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment and facility breakdowns during shifts.
- Replace faulty components such as lighting bulbs when needed.
- Respond swiftly to technical requests from guests and hotel patrons.
- Take daily meter readings for utilities and monitor equipment operation.
- Conduct patrols to assess fire and safety risks and verify lighting operation schedules around the property.
- Manage hotel plant facilities to support operations efficiently, including preventive maintenance.
- Repair and maintain furniture and building surfaces to high standards.
- Operate hotel elevators, dumbwaiters, swimming pools, water features, fire protection, drainage, sanitary systems, television, public music, lighting, and dimming controls as required.
- Uphold company values such as guest passion, sustainable performance, innovation, trust, and respect in all tasks.
- Contribute to corporate initiatives related to sustainability, social responsibility, diversity, and inclusion.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a Nitec Certificate in Building Facilities Maintenance, Electrical/Electronics, Air Conditioning Servicing, and/or Plumbing.
- Have a minimum of one year of relevant experience.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Possess thorough engineering knowledge relevant to the hotel environment.
- Plan tasks proactively with excellent communication skills to interact across all colleague levels.
- Exhibit professionalism centered on service and teamwork with adaptability to changes.
- Possess a strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize effectively.
