Role Purpose

This position supports the creation, review, and refinement of project cost estimates for data center infrastructure work. It is well suited to detail-oriented professionals with a technical mindset who want to build a career in data center construction, structured cabling, and mission-critical operations. The role involves close coordination with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, and vendors to produce accurate, competitive estimates that contribute to successful project delivery and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare estimates, bills of materials, and labour projections for data center construction and infrastructure projects.
Carry out estimation for BMS, fire, security, ELV, and ICT packages, including input study, RFI preparation, equipment take-off, device selection, solution design, controller and server sizing, BOQ costing, and compliance review.
Review drawings, technical specifications, and scope documents to understand project needs.
Work with project engineers, site operations, and procurement teams to confirm quantities, labour rates, and vendor pricing.
Perform quantity take-offs for structured cabling, electrical, and mechanical systems associated with data centers.
Support bid creation and submission for RFPs and client proposals.
Maintain historical cost records, unit rate data, and vendor pricing databases.
Assist in analysing change orders and assessing scope and cost implications.
Ensure estimates align with company standards, safety expectations, and client requirements.
Join pre-bid discussions to collect technical and logistical information.
Contribute ideas that improve estimating accuracy and turnaround time.

Candidate Profile

Strong ability to read and interpret detailed drawings and technical specifications.
Comfortable applying industry-standard arithmetic and formulas used in cost estimating.
Focused on understanding customer needs, expectations, and requirements.
Skilled in Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Exposure to industry platforms such as Bluebeam, Procore, and AutoDesk is expected.
Familiarity with estimating tools such as Accubid and McCormick is an advantage.
Experience with CAD, Revit, or other 3D modelling software/viewers will be a plus.
Able to work under deadlines and adapt smoothly to changing priorities.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Educational background in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience and training.
Minimum 5 years of experience estimating large, complex structured cabling and low-voltage system projects.
Prior experience building detailed cost budgets and estimates for data center structured cabling systems is highly preferred.
Experience with different commercial models such as lump sum/fixed price, GMP, unit price/rate, and design-build contracts is required.
