Job Summary
The Data Science team leverages extensive datasets to guide business strategies and provide data-driven insights that enhance member engagement, business expansion, and monetization. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with skilled analytics, data science experts, and cross-functional groups to identify business needs and devise innovative algorithms and methods to solve them.
- Investigate and interpret both structured and unstructured large-scale data sets.
- Perform comprehensive research, including model refinement, advanced experimentation, and observational causal analyses to measure causal relationships within the ecosystem, finding business opportunities that improve member and customer value.
- Create and enhance methodologies to advance our products and platform capabilities.
- Work closely with engineering teams to develop, prototype, and verify scalable end-to-end tools and applications that translate data into actionable insights.
- Advocate for and facilitate the integration of cutting-edge Data Science developments throughout the organization, raising the standards and practices of the discipline.
- Enhance the organization's ability to analyze labor market trends and other economic indicators credibly.
- Lead projects independently from initiation through to completion.
- Serve as a strategic partner to senior leaders by helping prioritize projects, offer expert recommendations, and champion data-driven decisions aligned with key objectives.
- Engage with cross-disciplinary teams to guide or support major strategic projects at the team, department, or company level.
- Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior team members through design and code reviews.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Informatics, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or Economics.
- At least 3 years of relevant professional or academic experience.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as R, Python, Java, Ruby, Scala/Spark, or Perl.
- Experience applying statistical modeling techniques using tools like R or Python.
- Preferred candidates hold an advanced degree (MS or PhD) with relevant experience: MS with 3+ years, PhD with 1+ year.
Technical Expertise
- Machine learning methods.
- Research skills including data-driven experimentation.
- Causal inference and statistical analysis.
