About the Role

Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services is seeking committed security professionals to join their Security Guard teams across the UK for a new project with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). This role offers an excellent chance to contribute positively to communities by ensuring safety and security at DWP premises.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a secure environment for DWP employees, visitors, and assets.
  • Conduct regular patrols to detect and prevent potential security threats.
  • React promptly and efficiently to emergencies or suspicious activities.
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency responders as necessary.
  • Deliver excellent customer service by assisting staff and visitors with security concerns.
  • Perform routine security inspections and document incidents comprehensively.
  • Comply with Mitie and DWP security policies, procedures, and standards.

Health & Safety and Conduct

  • Identify and report health and safety hazards or risks immediately.
  • Remain vigilant to environmental changes that may threaten safety and act to prevent disruption or damage.
  • Exercise sound judgment and involve others if situations escalate.
  • Maintain professionalism when handling challenging scenarios and client interactions.
  • Complete detailed incident records promptly to support incident reporting processes.
  • Adhere to scheduled duties and exhibit dedication to Mitie and client commitments.
  • Notify emergency services and internal communication centers about all incidents without delay.

Candidate Requirements

  • Prior experience working in a security role.
  • Possession of a Security Industry Authority (SIA) licence preferred.
  • A valid full UK driving licence is required.
