Job description
Position Overview
This role requires managing all reservation requests, modifications, and cancellations received via phone, fax, or mail. The agent will ascertain guest needs, assign suitable room types, and confirm availability and rates. Clear explanations of guarantees, special rates, and cancellation policies are essential. Handling special requests and providing detailed information about property amenities and rooms are key responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Handle reservation processing and data input accurately in the reservation system.
- Apply correct codes and rates for special reservation types such as complimentary rooms, employee discounts, travel agent inspections, and wholesale bookings.
- Adhere to sales techniques to optimize revenue generation.
- Follow escalation protocols for guest concerns.
- Maintain professional and clean presentation, confidentiality, and protect company assets and privacy.
- Deliver courteous guest greetings, anticipate and fulfill service needs, assist guests with disabilities, and express sincere appreciation.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, use appropriate telephone etiquette, and foster positive workplace relationships to support team goals.
- Comply with quality assurance standards and be able to handle physical tasks involving light lifting up to 10 pounds.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Work Experience: Prior experience is not required.
- Supervisory Experience: Not necessary.
- Licenses or Certifications: None required.
