About the Role
Join Immunic Therapeutics as a Research Associate to support the design, refinement, and comprehensive documentation of experiments aimed at deciphering the mechanisms of action of small molecules. You will be an essential part of a skilled scientific team, ensuring the smooth operation of laboratory activities at our Planegg location.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate laboratory tasks, including upkeep of equipment, maintaining lab facilities, overseeing reagents and samples, and handling procurement.
- Design, carry out, analyze, interpret, and document experiments to deepen understanding of small molecules' modes of action.
- Conduct cell culture procedures involving cell lines and human primary cells under biosafety level S2, including 2D and 3D culturing, cell-based assays, ELISA, real-time PCR, and FACS techniques.
- Develop, refine, and validate novel in vitro assays and experiments.
- Create and maintain updated work protocols and laboratory records.
- Communicate experimental processes and outcomes during team meetings.
- Collaborate extensively with Immunic's wider scientific team.
Candidate Profile
- Completed vocational training as Technician (e.g., MTLA, BTA, CTA, Biology Laborant) or have a degree in biology or a similar discipline.
- Demonstrated proficiency in cell culture methods, particularly using multichannel pipettes and 96-well plate systems.
- Experience with neuronal cell cultures or induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), along with ELISA, FACS, and qPCR, is beneficial.
- Self-motivated and dependable with the capacity to work independently.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented with strong time management aptitude.
- A collaborative team player possessing strong communication skills in both English and German.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications is necessary; knowledge of device-specific software is a plus.
