Overview
Aluminio Almeco S.A. is looking for a Quantitative Analyst with strong analytical and mathematical skills to create quantitative models, conduct statistical analyses, and provide insights that support key business and investment strategies. This position involves building predictive models, handling extensive datasets, assessing risks, and collaborating across teams to craft innovative analytical tools that enhance organizational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, verify, and maintain quantitative models for forecasting, pricing, optimization, and assessing risks.
- Gather, cleanse, and examine both structured and unstructured data from diverse sources.
- Perform statistical evaluations, simulations, and predictive modeling to discover patterns, trends, and new business opportunities.
- Create algorithms supporting financial analysis, portfolio management, market research, operational improvements, and intelligence operations.
- Assess model performance and apply improvements to enhance precision, scalability, and dependability.
- Conduct back-testing, sensitivity checks, and scenario analyses to ensure model robustness.
- Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, product teams, risk management, and business stakeholders to transform analytical insights into actionable solutions.
- Prepare technical reports, dashboards, and presentations that effectively communicate complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Support strategic decision-making via quantitative research and advanced analytics techniques.
- Ensure data integrity, govern model compliance, and uphold organizational standards.
- Monitor market forces, economic trends, and industry changes to identify risks and opportunities.
- Contribute in developing analytics tools, automating processes, and integrating machine learning where applicable.
- Continuously advance quantitative methods and analytical frameworks aligning with business goals.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Finance, Financial Engineering, Economics, Data Science, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, or equivalent quantitative field.
- Strong foundation in probability, statistics, calculus, linear algebra, optimization, and numerical techniques.
- Proficient in programming languages like Python, R, MATLAB, C++, Julia, or similar.
- Experienced in statistical analysis, predictive modeling, machine learning, time series, and simulation methods.
- Knowledge of financial mathematics, derivatives, portfolio theory, risk modeling, and investment strategies is a plus.
- Familiarity with SQL and handling relational and non-relational databases.
- Knowledge of data visualization and business intelligence platforms such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Understanding of financial markets, economic indicators, and quantitative methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and interpretation skills.
- Strong written and oral communication, including the ability to develop technical documentation and present findings clearly to various audiences.
- Detail-oriented with a strong sense of accuracy and integrity.
- Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within diverse teams.
- Beneficial knowledge of cloud, distributed, or high-performance computing environments.
- Professional certifications like CFA, FRM, CQF, or PRM are advantageous but not required.
- A commitment to continual learning in quantitative research, financial technology, AI, machine learning, and data analytics fields.
