Overview
The Quality Lead for the DEHE Vessel is accountable for executing the project quality management programs during the installation of jackets, topsides, and pipelines. This position ensures strict adherence to the Contractor's quality management system to maintain overall project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement the Project Quality Plan and ensure compliance with Contractor’s Project Quality Management System and procedures at the Fabrication Yard for all project activities.
- Conduct Construction Surveillance to verify that fabrication and installation activities meet project specifications.
- Review and approve Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), quality control and testing procedures from EPC Contractors and subcontractors.
- Apply quality control measures specifically over welding processes.
- Participate in regular meetings with Contractors and subcontractors to track progress and address quality-related matters.
- Supervise inspection activities using approved Site Inspection Services agencies for surveillance inspections.
- Lead Flawless Quality and Welding training programs collaboratively with Contractors to reduce defects.
- Perform frequent site walk-throughs with fabrication yard management to identify quality and safety concerns and recommend improvements.
- Maintain inspection records in a database integrated with the completions management system to facilitate smooth handover to commissioning.
- Manage Deficiency and Non-Conformance Report (NCR) processes to identify, document, investigate, and resolve fabrication non-conformities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Sciences or Engineering.
- Additional certifications related to quality, welding, and NDE inspection.
- At least 8 years of experience in the offshore Oil & Gas sector, including a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory or oversight capacity involving service/vendor personnel. Relevant experience includes installation of offshore structures and pipelines.
- Background working with Oil & Gas companies, contractors, or service firms.
- Experience in large-scale operational organizations and projects.
- Familiarity with quality systems, specifications, and quality management tools relevant to the industry.
- Knowledge of applicable industry standards.
- Strong proficiency in both written and spoken English.
