Project Manager – Agriculture

About the Role

We are looking to hire an experienced Project Manager specializing in Agriculture to spearhead and manage agricultural initiatives from initial planning to final execution. This role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and involves overseeing large-scale farming operations, including crop production, greenhouse management, irrigation systems, and overall agricultural infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of agricultural projects to ensure deadlines and budgets are met effectively.
• Oversee large farming activities such as crop cultivation, greenhouse projects, irrigation setup, and agricultural infrastructure development.
• Create detailed project timelines, budgets, and allocate resources efficiently.
• Collaborate with farm managers, agronomists, engineers, contractors, suppliers, and consultants throughout all project phases.
• Track project progress and take corrective measures as needed to meet objectives.
• Ensure adherence to agricultural laws, environmental regulations, and health and safety standards.
• Manage procurement of necessary agricultural tools, materials, and services.
• Supervise installation and commissioning of irrigation and greenhouse systems.
• Analyze project outcomes, compile progress reports, and update senior leadership regularly.
• Identify opportunities to enhance operational productivity, sustainability, and efficiency.
• Assess project risks and develop strategies for mitigation to secure successful completion.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related fields.
• Between 7 to 12 years of experience in managing agricultural or farming projects.
• Demonstrated expertise in large-scale farming, crop production, greenhouses, irrigation projects, or agricultural development.
• Strong knowledge of contemporary farming techniques, irrigation, soil management, and agro-technologies.
• Experience with managing budgets, schedules, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship management skills.
• Strong analytical skills with aptitude in planning and problem-solving.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools such as MS Project or Primavera.
• Prior work experience in the GCC region, notably Saudi Arabia, is preferred.
