Project Manager

About the Role

An established company in Galway is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join their Interventional Cardiology and Vascular Therapies (ICVT) division on a 12-month contract basis. This hybrid role requires a minimum of three days per week onsite and involves managing multiple sustaining projects related to commercialized single-use medical devices. The Project Manager will oversee projects spanning the full lifecycle—from initial planning to implementation—collaborating across different functions, business units, and manufacturing sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead diverse, cross-functional teams across several locations and concurrently manage multiple projects.
• Guide initiatives including material replacements, cost-cutting programs, expansion into new geographical markets, quality issue resolutions, and regulatory compliance tasks.
• Oversee project scopes, timelines, budgets, resources, and risk management.
• Create and execute thorough project plans, closely monitor progress versus strategic objectives and milestones, and prioritize initiatives jointly with leadership and functional managers.
• Facilitate strong collaboration among project teams and stakeholders, support team development, provide feedback, and cultivate ownership and engagement within teams.
• Identify and mitigate technical challenges and risks throughout project delivery, communicating effectively to resolve issues.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures while encouraging process enhancements across projects and teams.
• Serve as the primary communication bridge between project teams and senior leadership, handling status updates, meeting coordination, issue tracking, and performance reporting.
• Drive resolution of cross-departmental obstacles to ensure smooth project execution.

Qualifications and Experience

• A degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field is required.
• Three to five years of experience in project management or similar roles.
• Proven leadership of cross-functional project teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent organizational, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience in the medical device sector or other heavily regulated industries is advantageous.
• Familiarity with established project management practices and ability to handle complex processes and risks effectively.
• Customer-oriented perspective with adaptability to shifting business priorities.
