Role overview

For the electronics manufacturing team within Operations in Bamberg, Germany, the company is seeking a Process Engineer (m/f/d) Electronics Manufacturing, starting on 01.06.2026. The position is identified by reference number P_2026_211.

What you will do

• Evaluate, stabilize, and continuously refine manufacturing and inspection workflows, especially in SMT, THT, and device assembly, with a particular focus on SPI and AOI processes.
• Adjust process settings to improve yield, product quality, and throughput.
• Review production and quality data to uncover opportunities for enhancement.
• Design and implement improvement initiatives and projects.
• Carry out troubleshooting and root-cause investigations together with production, quality, and development teams.
• Support the launch of new products and help secure process and inspection concepts for series production.
• Train production staff and provide technical guidance on process and inspection procedures.
• Contribute to the ongoing structural development of manufacturing and inspection processes and bring in technical ideas.

Your profile

You should have completed a degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, production engineering, or hold an equivalent qualification. Practical experience in electronics manufacturing is expected, ideally in SMT, THT, or assembly environments with exposure to AOI and/or SPI processes. A solid understanding of manufacturing and inspection process analysis and optimization is important, preferably paired with experience in Lean methods or structured problem-solving approaches. You should also be comfortable interpreting defect patterns, test strategies, and their impact on quality and yield. The role calls for a structured, analytical, and hands-on working style, strong communication skills, cross-functional collaboration, initiative, and the willingness to take ownership of assigned topics while continuing to develop professionally and personally.
