About Chesapeake Search Partners and the Role
Chesapeake Search Partners is collaborating with a boutique private investment firm based in Baltimore to expand their team by hiring a Private Equity Associate. This position provides comprehensive involvement throughout the entire investment lifecycle, featuring direct mentorship from senior leaders. The Associate is expected to actively participate in evaluating new investment opportunities and supporting ongoing initiatives for portfolio companies.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess incoming investment opportunities for fit with the firm's strategic objectives
- Perform thorough business, financial, and market due diligence on potential investments
- Develop and scrutinize detailed financial models, including forecasts and scenario planning
- Support valuation processes, deal structuring, and execution activities
- Monitor portfolio company performance and contribute to portfolio management tasks
- Prepare investment presentations, internal reports, and analysis to aid decision-making
Qualifications and Requirements
- A bachelor's degree is mandatory, ideally with a focus on finance, economics, or related discipline
- Possession of an advanced degree such as an MBA, CFA certification, or comparable professional experience is advantageous
- At least three years of pertinent experience in investment banking, private equity, transaction advisory, leveraged finance, or similar analytical roles
- Proven expertise in financial modeling, valuation, and quantitative analytics
- Strong understanding of accounting concepts and corporate finance principles
- Capable of handling multiple priorities effectively in a fast-moving environment
- Motivated to work in a lean, entrepreneurial setting that values initiative and ownership
