Role Overview
The Plant Operator position involves managing and overseeing the operation of sewage and water treatment equipment. This includes handling pumps, aerators, chemical feeders, filters, and sludge digesters to ensure the efficient treatment of wastewater and water.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate and consistently monitor various treatment equipment used in sewage and water processing.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance to ensure plant machinery functions at peak efficiency.
- Collect and examine wastewater and water samples to verify adherence to environmental regulatory standards.
- Modify treatment procedures as necessary based on analytical results and operational demands.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records covering plant operations, logs, reports, and compliance documents.
- Identify and troubleshoot operational problems, coordinating with maintenance teams to resolve issues promptly.
- Follow established safety guidelines and maintain cleanliness and organization within the plant environment.
- Engage in emergency response efforts and participate in on-call rotations as required.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of plant improvement initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness.
