Position Overview

Marlborough School, an esteemed independent girls' college-preparatory institution in Los Angeles, California, is seeking a talented and community-focused Photographer/Videographer to join its Communications Office. This position is tasked with capturing and producing high-quality photo and video content that vividly portrays the Marlborough experience across various digital platforms and institutional communications. The role involves documenting the full spectrum of student life, academics, arts, athletics, and community events with creativity and attention to narrative detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary photographer and videographer for the School, covering events, programs, and campus life throughout the year.
• Capture consistent and compelling images and videos portraying student activities, academic endeavors, sports, arts, special events, and milestone moments.
• Deliver timely visual content to support urgent communications and social media, including Instagram Reels, collaborating closely with marketing colleagues.
• Edit and retouch photos for use across various platforms such as web, print, and email newsletters.
• Perform full video editing processes including color adjustment, audio enhancement, motion graphics, and formatting for different output requirements.
• Maintain a consistent visual style aligned with the School's brand identity.
• Organize and manage the digital photo and video archive using the Canto asset management system, ensuring content is up to date and easy to access.
• Coordinate with campus departments to create content that supports communication objectives and assist with website visual updates.
• Help the Communications Office manage project deadlines and deliverables effectively.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Photography, Film, Visual Communications, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• 3 to 5 years of professional experience in photography and videography, with a portfolio that demonstrates a broad range of event coverage, editorial work, and brand storytelling.
• Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite applications like Lightroom, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro.
• Prior experience in education, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations is advantageous.
• Familiarity with digital asset management tools, ideally Canto, and working knowledge of Google Suite; skills with Finalsite, Asana, and Canva are a plus.
• Strong organizational abilities to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication skills paired with a collaborative, community-sensitive work style.
• Discretion and prudent judgment in dealing with images of minors and public communications.
• Willingness and flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by School events.

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive hourly wage between $26.50 and $36.00, translating to an approximate annual salary range of $55,000 to $75,000.
