Role Importance and Summary
This role involves overseeing pharmacy operations during shifts, offering consultations to customers and healthcare professionals, practicing comprehensive pharmaceutical services, dispensing medications, and supporting dispensary management.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Welcome all customers entering the pharmacy and provide attentive service.
- Operate fully within applicable federal and provincial laws, regulations, and professional standards.
- Maintain strict privacy and confidentiality standards, including consent management.
- Counsel patients regarding prescriptions and over-the-counter products.
- Utilize the expanded scope of professional services appropriately within your qualifications.
- Ensure clear identification to the public as a professional pharmacist.
- Verify that all prescriptions dispensed are accurate and suitable.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers within the patient’s care network to optimize customer care.
- Keep complete and compliant records according to legislation and company policies.
- Control dispensary access to protect inventory and patient confidentiality.
- Manage workflow queues daily and regularly check 'will call' bins as per standard operating procedures.
- Monitor stock for expired items and oversee inventory levels and medication ordering from suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with controlled substances legislation and reporting requirements.
- Maintain clean, professional pharmacy appearance including workstations and waiting areas.
- Participate in financial reporting as required.
- Read and act upon store communications via internal web platforms.
- Report any incidents involving medication or privacy breaches promptly.
Qualifications and Skills
- Ability to make independent decisions and solve problems effectively.
- Skilled in planning, coordinating, delegating tasks, and coaching pharmacy team members.
- Demonstrated ability to grow and lead business initiatives and support organizational programs.
- Dedicated to delivering outstanding customer service and maintaining professional conduct.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer relations.
- Proactive problem-solving skills including developing and implementing action plans.
- Competent with personal computing and knowledgeable in pharmacy management systems is an advantage.
- Adherence to health and safety standards to ensure a safe workplace.
- Commitment to completing mandatory and voluntary professional training.

Compensation
The hourly wage ranges from $48.90 to $63.25, depending on experience, knowledge, and regional factors.
