Payments Business Analyst

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Payments Business Analyst based in Toronto, ON, for a contract role expected to last over six months. This role involves working onsite with possible hybrid arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive business analysis and quality assurance efforts spanning complex projects in the payments domain.
• Translate complex business needs into detailed, actionable, and verifiable requirements to align business, technology teams, compliance departments, and external stakeholders.
• Manage the entire solution delivery lifecycle, encompassing requirements gathering, testing phases, implementation, and post-launch support, while emphasizing risk management, regulatory compliance, and operational preparedness.
• Validate testing outcomes across sophisticated payment platforms ensuring accuracy and adherence to compliance standards prior to deployment.
• Coordinate activities across multi-disciplinary teams, including vendors and tool administrators, to ensure seamless delivery.
• Identify and resolve defects early within the project lifecycle by conducting root cause analysis and collaborating efficiently with cross-functional teams.

Required Skills and Expertise

• Solid knowledge of major payment systems and protocols such as Canada Lynx, SWIFT, and Fedwire.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and agile development methodologies, including adopting a Product Owner perspective.
• Experience with Shift Left testing principles and agile best practices.
• Advanced use of collaborative tools including Jira, JTMF, and Confluence to support project coordination and documentation.
