Part-Time Grounds Crew Member

About the Role

Belton Parks and Recreation is seeking dedicated individuals for the part-time position of Grounds Crew. Ideal candidates should be available during afternoon and evening hours as well as weekends to support the maintenance and operation of park and recreational ballfields.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform various unskilled and semi-skilled tasks related to grounds upkeep and facility maintenance.
• Operate lawn and landscaping equipment such as gators, edgers, weed trimmers, blowers, electric motors, pumps, sprinklers, and irrigation systems.
• Utilize a variety of hand and power tools for turf maintenance and janitorial tasks including power washers, vacuums, mops, brooms, and dusting tools.
• Follow all applicable safety precautions and proper use of equipment.
• Work independently to complete scheduled activities efficiently and effectively.

Qualifications and Skills

• Basic knowledge of materials, equipment, and supplies used in building and grounds upkeep.
• Familiarity with minor repair tools, safety protocols, and first aid.
• Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
• Capable of understanding, following, and delivering written and oral instructions.
• Physically able to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for extended periods, and endure physically demanding work under challenging environmental conditions.
• Strong problem-solving aptitude and ability to think independently.
• Knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations governing grounds maintenance.
• Ability to foster positive relationships with supervisors, coworkers, and the public.
