Role Overview
This opportunity is for a seasoned EHS Officer to join the Auckland-based team on a part-time schedule, working three days per week. The position offers exposure to multiple facets of a global business, enabling skill enhancement and career development within Johnson Controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and uphold the Johnson Controls Integrated Business Management Systems encompassing Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality (EHSQ) elements.
- Carry out routine audits to ensure system compliance and coordinate onsite inspections.
- Support monthly EHSQ statistical data compilation alongside the Pacific EHSQ team.
- Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) and oversee continuous improvement activities.
- Implement quality procedures and administer quality audits to monitor performance.
- Conduct training sessions to maintain QA and EHS compliance.
- Assist with incident investigations and develop corrective or preventative measures.
- Ensure the site complies with relevant legal requirements concerning EHSQ.
- Perform risk assessments and prepare safe work method statements.
- Lead the Health & Safety Committee, delivering feedback to leadership and employees.
- Provide expert advice on health, safety, welfare, environmental, and quality matters.
- Coordinate Return to Work programs and manage related claims processing.
- Champion best practices and advocate for quality outcomes among stakeholders.
- Drive a culture transformation aimed at achieving the company’s Zero Harm vision.
Candidate Profile
- Preferred: Degree in Quality Assurance.
- Mandatory: Certificate 4 or equivalent in Workplace Health and Safety.
- Certified Lead Auditor for ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 standards.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.
- Incident investigation qualification is advantageous.
- Proficient computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
