Role Overview

The Operations Manager will excel in a dynamic, high-volume distribution setting, partnering closely with General or Assistant General Managers to drive floor performance, develop frontline talent, and adapt to fluctuating priorities, peak seasons, and daily operational demands. This position requires leading teams to achieve excellence in safety, associate engagement, service quality, inventory accuracy, and productivity, ensuring consistent execution and team cohesion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead high-performing teams by establishing clear goals, providing consistent coaching, and fostering accountability at all levels.
  • Monitor productivity levels, workflow efficiency, and service delivery, swiftly addressing issues and removing barriers.
  • Ensure smooth shift transitions, operational continuity, and uniform execution across different operational functions.
  • Communicate policies clearly to associates, act as the primary information source, maintain compliance, and enforce corrective actions when necessary.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments and external vendors to align goals and ensure effective execution.
  • Adjust operations quickly to scale up or down depending on business demands, labor availability, and seasonal fluctuations.
  • Promote a culture committed to safe practices, quality work, and operational discipline as fundamental values.
  • Work with site leadership to maintain OSHA compliance and meet company safety standards.
  • Manage daily, weekly, monthly, and peak season labor scheduling and oversee job assignments.
  • Achieve financial goals and adhere to budgetary constraints.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification.
  • 3 to 5 years of management or leadership experience in distribution or manufacturing environments.
  • Alternatively, 6 to 8 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in distribution roles without a college degree.
  • Proven track record of leading people and managing performance in fast-paced, high-volume distribution, logistics, or fulfillment operations.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct teams, set clear directions, and enforce accountability.
  • Capable of making sound operational decisions quickly in a changing environment.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to support inventory control and workflow accuracy.
  • Proven ability to oversee third-party providers in warehouse operations, value-added services, and transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or related field is highly desirable.
