Overview
CREGG is seeking a capable and motivated Operations Manager to join our client's team located in Shannon, County Clare. This full-time and permanent role will report directly to the Managing Director and oversee all manufacturing and operational aspects of the factory. The aim is to enhance operational standards, improve production performance, maintain supply chain effectiveness, ensure quality, and foster continuous improvements site-wide.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate all daily manufacturing and operational tasks within the factory setting.
- Drive operational excellence by implementing efficient planning, managing performance, and effectively allocating resources.
- Align manufacturing capabilities with business goals and customer expectations.
- Act as an integral part of the leadership team to support strategic business planning and overall company performance.
- Develop and oversee the Master Production Schedule based on sales forecasts and customer demands.
- Ensure strict adherence to production schedules and enhance manufacturing efficiency via production control and visual management techniques.
- Collaborate with Engineering departments to facilitate smooth introduction of new products into production.
- Work closely with Procurement and Supply Chain teams to guarantee material availability aligns with production needs.
- Establish and manage effective Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) procedures.
- Optimize inventory to balance customer service quality while minimizing working capital needs.
- Promote Lean Manufacturing principles and lead initiatives for continuous productivity improvement, waste reduction, and cost savings.
- Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures and best practices for operations.
- Lead root cause investigations into quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development opportunities to production, planning, and operational teams to drive high performance.
- Encourage employee involvement, responsibility, and cross-department collaboration.
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, Operations Management, or closely related field.
- At least five years of leadership experience in manufacturing or operations within instrumentation, electronics, medical devices, precision engineering, or comparable sectors.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing factory operations, production scheduling, and supply chain functions.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement processes.
- Experience with ERP/MRP software and production planning systems.
- Commercially aware with a clear understanding of operational impacts on customer satisfaction and business profitability.
- Superior leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving capability, using data-driven methods for decision-making.
