Open Country Dairy is seeking a commercially astute and relationship-driven Milk Supply Manager to expand and nurture its milk supply network within the Mataura region. Collaborating closely with both Mataura Valley Milk (MVM) and Open Country Dairy supplier farms, this role offers a significant opportunity to influence milk supply in one of New Zealand's vital dairy areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain strong, trusting partnerships with existing supplier farmers.
• Identify and secure new milk supply sources to support network growth.
• Promote and support initiatives that enhance supplier retention and engagement.
• Deliver precise milk supply forecasts and provide valuable market intelligence.
• Assist farmers in meeting milk quality standards and ensuring compliance.
• Champion sustainability and environmental initiatives across the region.
• Represent both Open Country Dairy and Mataura Valley Milk within the local dairy sector.
• Monitor regional dairy industry trends and competitive activities to inform strategies.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate may originate from milk supply, agribusiness, rural banking, dairy farming, or agricultural services sectors and must enjoy building enduring relationships with farmers.

• In-depth understanding of dairy farming operations.
• Exceptional communication and relationship management skills.
• Strong commercial acumen and financial literacy.
• Experience dealing directly with farmers or rural clients.
• Ability to independently manage and oversee activities within the assigned region.
• Highly organized with the capability to produce accurate forecasts.
• Proficient in computer applications, including CRM platforms and Microsoft Office.
