Job description

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Microsoft Purview Engineer experienced in developing and managing enterprise data protection solutions within Microsoft Purview. The role involves designing sophisticated auto-labeling policies, improving data classification, enforcing Data Loss Prevention (DLP) rules, and integrating Microsoft Purview with existing security systems. The successful candidate will support compliance efforts and conduct user training to strengthen data security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute auto-labeling policies to automatically classify sensitive data based on contextual and content analysis.
  • Develop customised trainable classifiers for enhanced detection of company-specific sensitive information.
  • Establish and implement endpoint DLP policies to prevent unauthorized data loss, including restricting USB and printing capabilities.
  • Set up policy tips and user alerts to improve end-user awareness and minimize accidental data exposure.
  • Conduct comprehensive data discovery and classification scanning across both structured and unstructured data repositories.
  • Optimize DLP policy parameters to ensure robust security while maintaining business operational capabilities.
  • Define and enforce restrictions on file usage rights such as viewing, editing, printing, copying, and forwarding via Microsoft Purview Digital Rights Management (DRM).
  • Perform root cause analyses on recurrent DLP incidents and implement controls to prevent future occurrences.
  • Integrate Microsoft Purview with existing security tools and workflow systems to streamline centralized data protection management.
  • Prepare detailed reports and provide necessary evidence to facilitate audit and compliance reviews.
  • Manage the lifecycle of sensitivity labels including creation, updates, publication, and decommissioning.
  • Configure encryption and access controls based on labels to maintain persistent protection for sensitive files and emails.
  • Automate reporting and alerting processes through compliance center dashboards and log monitoring.
  • Conduct training sessions and user education programs to promote adherence to data protection policies.
  • Implement role-based access control (RBAC) for secure and authorized administration of compliance tools.
  • Monitor and enhance classification coverage throughout cloud environments.
  • Test and evaluate new Microsoft Purview features and updates prior to deployment in production environments.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and knowledge base articles for data protection processes.

Candidate Profile

Applicants should have 3 to 5 years of practical experience managing and implementing Microsoft Purview enterprise data protection solutions. Expertise in data classification, sensitivity labeling, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and Digital Rights Management (DRM) within Microsoft 365 ecosystems is essential. Proven success in minimizing data leakage, improving classification precision, and supporting regulatory compliance through policy management and incident prevention is required. This opportunity is exclusively available to Saudi nationals.
