Mechanical Engineer - Site Supervision

Job Overview

We seek a Mechanical Engineer with substantial experience in site supervision to support supervision projects based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Candidates must be residing in the UAE and have prior experience within engineering consultancy in the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee mechanical scope adherence to contract specifications and procedural guidelines.
• Review, approve, and manage all mechanical technical submittals.
• Examine and validate contractor-submitted shop drawings, materials, and method statements.
• Respond to mechanical-related Request for Information (RFI).
• Supervise and inspect the installation of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting at the project site.
• Provide expertise in selecting materials and equipment.
• Track site progress, conduct regular inspections, and compile daily and weekly progress reports.
• Evaluate contractors’ mechanical change proposals and advise accordingly.
• Assess mechanical-related contractor claims and draft recommendations.
• Participate in site meetings, offering technical support to contractors as required.
• Manage on-site mechanical inspectors.
• Support final work inspection and oversee startup, testing, commissioning, and handover of mechanical systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant discipline.
• Strong background in design with capability to interpret design drawings and calculations.
• Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical systems, products, and construction materials.
• Familiarity with applicable mechanical design standards and construction codes.
• Well-versed in technical specifications and authority regulations.
